Who runs this, and why it's free
"Free, with no visible business model" is a fair thing to be wary of when a tool is holding your risk data. So here's the straight answer: who runs it, how it will sustain itself, and what we commit to regardless.
Who runs it
Urna is built by an independent founder. A UK limited company is being incorporated as the contracting entity, and this page and the site footer will name it, with its company number and registered address, as soon as that completes.
Why it's free — and how it will sustain itself
Urna is free while it's being built out, and personal workspaces will stay free. The plan is paid team plans for organisations that want more seats and admin features later. That's the business model — not your data.
Our commitments
- Your data is never the product. We do not sell it, and we do not use your working data to train models. AI advice is only ever generated when you ask for it, on one risk at a time (see the DPA).
- You can leave at any time. Full CSV / zip export is built in — no lock-in.
- If Urna ever shuts down, we'll give at least 90 days' notice with export available throughout.
- Honest claims. Roadmap features are labelled as roadmap, not shipped. See what's actually landed on the changelog.
